Easy Search Tips
Not finding what you're looking for? Don't despairsometimes it just takes a couple tries.
Start with the easy tips below.
- Think of different artists or titles. What one or two key word(s) are in the title or artists name?
- Use specific key words instead of general ones. For example, a search for "Who Let The Dogs Out" will return fewer and more targeted listings than a search for "Dogs."
- Be careful when using and, or, the. Use and, or, the only if you're searching for titles or artists containing these words such as "Diana Ross and the Supreme's" or "Black or White". If you get too many matches, try your search without them.
- Use punctuation only when required. For example, you'll be successful if you search for AC DC.
- Expand your search by adding or deleting the letter "s". If searching for Brown Eyed Girls doesn't return a match, find more with very little overlap by entering Brown Eyed Girl.
- Remember, the number of records returned from any type of search is only an estimate of the total number available. If you're not searching for something specific, browse the result listing pages. You may find many titles just by looking through the records.
- If a title or artist is spelled incorrectly it will not come up in the results.
- Try typing just a few of the first letters of a word if unsure of spelling of artist or title, then narrow your search.
- Once you scroll to the bottom of the results page, be sure to click on any remaining result pages that may be available.
